Too Funny!
We all know that kids say the darnedest things! Well today this old saying was present with my kiddos!
I had practiced phonics sounds with my students earlier today before we started on our writing assignment. The kids were describing what the American Flag looks like. One of my students was trying to spell "flag". I asked her, "What sound does "flag" begin with? Of course I then proceeded to slowly pronounce F...l...ag.
She answered, very loudly I might add, "the 'F-ing' sound!"
It was so hard not to laugh especially since she was so proud of herself! I literally had to smile and say "you got it!" To keep it all in! Too funny!

Welcome!
Welcome to my Blog!
This is going to be a new adventure for me by taking on this new blog!
I am excited to share my experiences as I embark on this new en devour!
Let me first give you a little background on myself. I have been teaching 12 years-yikes time really flies! Out of my 12 years experience, I taught 3rd Grade for 10 years, only 1 year in second grade and after several years of conversations with my principal, I am now teaching 1st Grade!! This has always been a dream of mine to teach the little ones and now my dream has come true!
My little kiddos are so sweet and simply love school! This has made my transition to 1st grade, simply amazing!! I do feel like a first year teacher all over again-staying later then normal, bringing work home and catching up on daily emails late at night.
One of the first things I needed to do was go shopping for my classroom-so much fun! We have a Lakeshore Learning Store about 45 mins away from where I live and let me tell you, it was AMAZING! Totally my new favorite store! Saves me money on having items shipped!
I could have easily gone over board with all the great teaching products they have but thankfully I had a budget in mind! You can even laminate the items you purchase for as little as $0.29 per square foot-awesome right? One of the great items I received, for FREE, was a lesson plan book! I actually do my lessons on the computer but we have so many new teachers at our school this year, I was able to give this fantastic book to one of them! Check it out-
